This consultation is designed for individuals experiencing perimenopause or menopause who are seeking clear, evidence-informed information and supportive nursing guidance during this stage of life.

Led by a Registered Nurse with extensive primary care and chronic disease management experience, this appointment offers unhurried, client-centred education and support to help you better understand body changes, manage symptoms, and navigate healthcare conversations with confidence.

What May Be Included in This Consultation

Each consultation is individualized and may include:

1. Health History & Life Stage Review

  • Discussion of menstrual history, life stage, and personal health goals

  • Review of client-reported symptoms commonly associated with perimenopause or menopause (e.g., sleep changes, hot flashes, mood changes, fatigue, joint discomfort, cognitive changes)

  • Exploration of how these changes are affecting daily life, work, relationships, and overall well-being

2. Perimenopause & Menopause Education

  • Education on hormonal changes that occur during perimenopause and menopause

  • Discussion of common and less commonly discussed symptoms

  • Clarification of what is commonly reported during this life stage and when further medical assessment may be appropriate

3. Symptom Understanding & Self-Management Education

  • Education to support awareness of symptom patterns and potential triggers

  • Discussion of non-medical strategies commonly used to support comfort and well-being

  • Support in identifying individualized approaches aligned with your lifestyle and preferences

4. Lifestyle & Wellness Education

  • Education related to sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, and self-care during midlife

  • Discussion of how lifestyle factors may influence symptom experience

  • Identification of realistic and sustainable wellness goals

5. Chronic Health Considerations

  • Discussion of how perimenopause or menopause may interact with existing health conditions (e.g., cardiovascular health, bone health, diabetes, thyroid conditions)

  • Education to support informed discussions with your healthcare providers

6. Health System Navigation & Advocacy Support

  • Guidance on preparing for appointments with physicians or nurse practitioners

  • Support identifying questions, concerns, or topics to raise during healthcare visits

  • Education on available care pathways and referrals when appropriate

7. Care Planning & Next Steps

  • Collaborative goal-setting based on your priorities
