Scope of Practice
ThriveWell Nursing provides independent nursing consulting, education, and wellness services delivered by a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the Province of Alberta.

All services are provided in accordance with:

Alberta legislation governing Registered Nursing practice

Ethical and professional nursing guidelines

Nature of Services
​
Services provided by ThriveWell Nursing are educational, consultative, and supportive in nature and may include:

Health education and health literacy support
-
Chronic disease self-management education
-
Wellness and lifestyle education
-
Care planning and goal-setting support
-
Health system navigation and advocacy guidance
-
Support related to women’s health, healthy aging, and prevention
-
Workplace wellness education and burnout prevention programming

Services are individualized, collaborative, and client-centred, with an emphasis on prevention, informed decision-making, and sustainable health practices.

Scope Limitations
​
ThriveWell Nursing does not provide the following services:

Medical diagnosis

Prescribing medications or treatments

Ordering or interpreting diagnostic tests

Medical treatment or acute care services
-
Emergency or urgent care services
​
All services are intended to complement — not replace — care provided by physicians, nurse practitioners, or other regulated healthcare professionals.
Clients are encouraged to maintain an ongoing relationship with their primary healthcare provider and to seek medical attention for urgent or emergent health concerns.

Professional Accountability
​
As a Registered Nurse, the provider at ThriveWell Nursing:

Practices within the legislated scope of Registered Nursing in Alberta

Maintains professional competence and accountability

Adheres to ethical, legal, and professional standards

Practices collaborative, evidence-informed nursing care

Refers clients to appropriate healthcare providers when needs fall outside RN scope

Privacy, Confidentiality & Record Keeping

ThriveWell Nursing is committed to protecting client privacy and confidentiality in compliance with PIPA and professional nursing standards.

Personal information is collected only for purposes related to providing nursing services

Client information is stored securely using Practice Better, a secure practice management and charting platform
-
Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used to protect personal information

Access to client records is restricted to authorized individuals only

Client Responsibility

Clients remain responsible for:
​

Their own health decisions

Following up with appropriate healthcare providers
-
Seeking medical advice or emergency care when necessary
​
Participation in nursing consultations is voluntary, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

All services are delivered within the RN’s scope of practice and professional standards regardless of format.

This scope of practice statement applies to services provided by ThriveWell Nursing within Alberta, Canada, and is governed by applicable provincial legislation.
